DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's soccer team battled to a 3-3 draw with the Norse of Luther College on Wednesday evening in the Rock Bowl.
The Duhawks struck early as
Bryan Basinger shouldered the ball into the back of the net four minutes into the match off a corner kick by
Carson Woods.
Luther (7-4-5, 5-1-1 A-R-C) controlled possession for most of the half as Raul Ferrandez capitalized on one opportunity for the Norse, evening up the score at one apiece off an assist from Nico Cedeno in the 28
th minute.
Nearing the 35-minute mark, the Norse found another goal as Javier Pastor Valls nailed one in the upper 90, off Cedeno's second assist of the night.
Loras (7-4-7, 3-1-2 A-R-C) came back from being down 2-1 as
Owen Ivanuck scored the equalizer off an assist from
Diego Rodriguez.
40 seconds after the Duhawks evened the score, the Norse regained the lead off a goal by Pastor Valls, earning his second of the night.
The Purple and Gold did not give up, as Basinger sent home the final equalizing goal, off a perfectly placed corner kick by
Reed Miklavcic.
Ben Krogman turned away 10 shots on the night and made huge stops to keep the Duhawks in the game.
Up Next: Loras travels to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Saturday, Oct. 26 to take on Coe College. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
