DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's soccer team rounded out the regular season with a 1-0 victory over the Dutch of Central College Tuesday evening at the Rock Bowl.
The game was scoreless until the 65:58-minute mark when
Maximilian Stalenczyk scored his first career goal off a perfectly placed corner kick by
Julian Lopez.
Loras (9-4-7, 5-1-2 A-R-C) outshot Central (7-7-2, 3-4-1 A-R-C) 19 to six, however shots that landed on frame were close with the Duhawks placing six on target compared to the four for the Dutch.
The Duhawks had many opportunities to widen their lead, they just could not get one to go, as they earned 13 corner kicks compared to the two for Central.
Ben Krogman earned another shutout for the Purple and Gold as he turned away all four shots he faced on the night.
Up Next: Loras hosts Central on Saturday, Nov. 2 for the second time this week for a quarterfinal match in the American Rivers Conference Tournament. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
