DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's soccer team shutout Nebraska Wesleyan University, 2-0, on Homecoming inside the Rock Bowl.
The Duhawks struck early in the first half at the 9:43-mark, when
Bryan Basinger headed one home, tallying his third goal of the season off a perfectly placed corner kick by
Cole Bridson.
Despite being outshot 14 to six, Loras (5-3-5, 2-0-0 A-R-C) capitalized on their opportunities and extended the lead to 2-0.
Diego Rodriguez earned his first goal of the season off a well-timed cross by
Nico Garcia.
Physicality was on full display as Nebraska Wesleyan (5-5-0, 0-2-0) was trying to find answers. Four yellow cards were given, three to the Prairie Wolves compared to one for the Duhawks. Loras held strong despite the push from the Nebraska Wesleyan and secured the victory on senior night.
Ben Krogman earned his third shutout of the season as he faced seven shots on the night, turning away all of them.
