The lone tie of the game came at 6-6, following a layup by the Saints' Jacquez Overstreet. The closest St. Scholastica (0-1 overall) would get from that point was within one (12-11).

The Purple and Gold led by as many as 20 in the first half (52-32) and held a 54-35 advantage over the visitors heading into halftime.

Loras (1-0) went on to outscore the Saints 52-39 in the second half to comfortably cruise to its first victory of the year.

Overstreet paced the St. Scholastica offense shooting 4-of-8 from the floor, to finish with 15 points on the night. Andre Crockett Jr. and Koy Nelson also scored in double figures for the Saints, totaling 13 and 10 points respectively. As a team, the visitors shot 44 percent from the field (22-of-50) and 25 percent (5-of-20) from behind the arc.

Jack Haynes, who was a perfect 9-of-9 from the floor, led all scorers with 20 points, while also adding seven rebounds to his stat line. Tyler Bass recorded his first double-double of the season, pulling down 10 boards to go along with 18 points, while Jared Pearson rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Duhawks with 13 points.
