CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Loras College softball team dropped their series against Coe College on Saturday afternoon.
Game One: Loras 0, Coe College 4
The Kohawks scored four runs in the third inning off a pair of two-run home runs from Madi Parson and Shaylee Dodd.

Alyssa Hughes, and
Katherine Svigelj each recorded a hit for the Duhawks, however the Purple and Gold were unable to get a run across. Coe (24-6 overall, 8-2 A-R-C) pitchers, Ellie Thurow and Abbie White, combined for the shutout, walking just two batters, while striking out five.
Game Two: Loras 0, Coe College 9 (F/5)
Coe put itself on the board first with a run in the second inning, followed by a three-run third inning, and a five-run fourth inning.
Loras (17-13, 4-6) was never able to string together a series of hits to kick start its offense, which led to another shutout.
Up Next: Loras will continue conference play as they host Wartburg College on Tuesday, April 23. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
