ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Loras College women's tennis team fell, 6-3, in a nonconference matchup against Augustana College on Saturday afternoon.
In doubles play,
Ellie Kalina and
Leia Papanicholas grabbed the first Duhawk point of the match after outlasting Natasha Gauerke and Maitreyi Shrikhande in the No. 2 spot, 8-7 (8-6).
Jessie Yelaska and
Lauren Keiper gave Loras (11-7 overall, 6-2 American Rivers Conference) the 2-1 lead heading into singles play with their 8-6 victory over Mia Reese and Ava Lannen at No. 3 doubles.
Papanicholas scored the only point of singles competition in the No. 3 spot against Shrikhande by scores of 6-3, 6-1.
