May 14, 2024

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Six members of the Loras College men's and women's tennis programs have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2023-24 Academic All-District Team, as released by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Gage Becker, Sean Gelski and Thomas Kampmier represented the men's program, while Dorothy Deans, Ellie Kalina and Clair Moore were chosen from the women's side.

The American Rivers Conference placed 35 men and women tennis student-athletes on the list, with Loras and the University of Dubuque leading the way with three athletes apiece on the men's side and Luther headlining the women's programs with four athletes.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 4 (women) and June 5 (men).

To be considered for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be in the lineup for 70% of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her institution and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
