DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Loras College men's and women's tennis teams earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors, and 12 student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced Wednesday.
A total of 75 student-athletes from the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) received Scholar-Athlete recognition, with 39 men and 36 women earning the distinction.
Gage Becker, Samuel Cañas Guerrero,
Jackson Craig,
Lucas Healy,
Kareem Kassas, Diego Mejías,
Horia Popa, and
Jack Seda earned the honor for the men, while
Mary Breitbach,
Dorothy Deans,
Ellie Kalina, and
Alexis Tatum were recognized on the women's side.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- Be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
