2024 ABCA All-Defensive - TJ Boyd, Max McCallum

Boyd, McCallum Named ABCA All-Defensive

June 20, 2024

stuDUBUQUE, Iowa – Junior outfielder Max McCallum and sophomore pitcher TJ Boyd have been named to the 2024 American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Region 9 All-Defensive Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon.

The pair join former pitcher Davis Pasco as the only three Duhawks to have been named to the All-Defensive Team in the award's two year history. Loras now has the most student-athletes named All-Defensive out of any program in the American Rivers Conference, as Coe (Creighton Kreshel), Buena Vista (Tegan Bock), and Dubuque (Colin Husko) each have had one honoree.

McCallum had a terrific year as an outfielder, evident by his perfect fielding percentage (1.000). The junior out of Aurora, Ill. played in 43 games and logged 118 putouts with two assists and no errors. Boyd was equally as impressive, having recorded six putouts with four assists, no errors, and a perfect fielding percentage. Boyd went 5-4 on the year from the mound, striking out 46 in 54 innings of work.

The All-Defensive teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
