MONTGOMERY, Ill.  – The Loras College men's soccer team battled from behind to complete the comeback and win its season opener, 2-1, against the Spartans of Aurora University.
The match was scoreless through the first half until a goal was slotted home for the Spartans four minutes into the second half by Enrique Gonzalez.
The Duhawks remained aggressive offensively and in the 72
nd minute
Townes Robertson put the ball into the back of net off a pass from
Reed Miklavcic to even the score at 1-1.
Just seven minutes after scoring the equalizing goal, the Duhawks were awarded a penalty kick. Miklavcic buried it, giving Loras the 2-1 lead that they would hold onto until the conclusion of the contest.
Ben Krogman held strong, allowing just one goal on seven shot attempts.
