MONTGOMERY, Ill. ­ – The Loras College men's soccer team battled from behind to complete the comeback and win its season opener, 2-1, against the Spartans of Aurora University.

The match was scoreless through the first half until a goal was slotted home for the Spartans four minutes into the second half by Enrique Gonzalez.

The Duhawks remained aggressive offensively and in the 72^nd minute Townes Robertson put the ball into the back of net off a pass from Reed Miklavcic to even the score at 1-1.

Just seven minutes after scoring the equalizing goal, the Duhawks were awarded a penalty kick. Miklavcic buried it, giving Loras the 2-1 lead that they would hold onto until the conclusion of the contest.

Ben Krogman held strong, allowing just one goal on seven shot attempts.
