HOLLAND, Mich. – The Loras College football team fell in it's season opener against Hope College, 49-0, on Saturday afternoon inside Ray and Sue Smith Stadium.
The Flying Dutchmen put themselves on the board during their first drive of the contest and continued to control the offense for the remainder of the game.
Loras' (0-1) defense held Hope (1-0) to just one touchdown in the second half, but the Purple and Gold were never able to put the pieces together on offense.
Evan England totaled 81 passing yards on 14 completions, while
Justin Stephens controlled the ground game, registering 10 carries for 35 total yards.
Owen Kelly led the Duhawk defense with 15 tackles, including 10 solo.
