WHEATON, Ill. – An equalizing goal in the 68
th minute by North Carolina Wesleyan University resulted in a 2-2 draw for the Loras College men's soccer team on Saturday evening at Joe Bean Stadium.
Loras (2-1-1) scored the game's first goal at the 5:11 minute mark when
Ryan Shanahan netted the first goal of his career off an assist from
Townes Robertson. Despite having less chances on goal (15-4), the Duhawks struck again at the 29:51-minute mark, when
Bryan Basinger found the back of the net off an assist from
Reed Miklavcic.
To close out the first half, the Battling Bishops snuck one past
Ben Krogman. The goal was scored by Tiago Feler and assisted by Justo Esponda-Neuss.
The second half saw the Purple and Gold fire off 14 shots compared to four for North Carolina Wesleyan (1-2-1).
Krogman secured four saves on the night, but the Battling Bishops capitalized on an opportunity and leveled the score at two apiece before time expired.
