Women's Track and Field Dominates Competition at Monmouth Midwest Invitational

MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Loras College women's track and field team traveled to Monmouth College to compete in the Monmouth Midwest Invitational Friday evening.

The women continue their winning ways with a first place finish in all but two events. Leading the way for the Duhawks was Emma Seipel who placed first in three events. Seipel clocked a time of 7.71 seconds in the 60-meter dash, in addition to a 26.05 second 200-meter dash. Her final top finish was in the long jump where she earned a distance of 5.93 meters.

Loras' Distance Medley squad of Elly Burds, Layla Hughes, Emily Delamora, and Natalia Wrobel won the race with a time of 13:33.26 which ranks No. 15 across Division III.

Sara Hoskins had a season best distance in the long jump with a score of 1.70 meters which ranked her No. 3 in all of Division III.

Up Next: The Purple and Gold travel to Waverly, Iowa where they are set to compete at the Wartburg Select hosted by Wartburg College on Friday, Jan. 29-Saturday, Feb. 1.
