CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Loras College women's tennis team dropped their match against the Coe College Kohawks, 7-0, on Wednesday night.
The Duhawks fell behind early in the match after not being able to secure a point in doubles. Loras was downed by a score of 6-1 in all three matches.
In singles action,
Mary Breitbach came up short against Sophia Fain 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 and No. 3 singles,
Ellie Kalina and
Alexis Tatum dropped their matches 6-2, 6-0, and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
Megan Covelli was met with a similar fate at No. 4 singles while
Saydie Roling lost 6-1, 6-0 to Marai Bello Escobar.
Lauren Keiper fought hard at the No. 6 position, but ultimately came up short, losing 6-4, 7-5 to round out the night.
Up Next: The Duhawks will take on the Dutch from Central College on Friday, Oct. 3 in Pella, Iowa. Match time from Poortinga Family Tennis Courts is scheduled for 4 PM.
