DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Loras College women's soccer team kept its unbeaten season intact Saturday afternoon after securing a 3–0 victory over Simpson College at the Rock Bowl.
Loras (11-0-1, 4-0-0 A-R-C) broke through midway through the first half as midfielder
Belle Johnson found the back of the net in the 21st minute. The goal was set up by
Emerson Gasmann, who slid a pass into the box that Johnson converted for her seventh score of the season.
Katie Callahan was also credited with an assist on the play.
The Duhawks doubled their advantage just before halftime when
Ivy Wessel capitalized in the 39th minute, slotting home a header goal off a corner kick from
Gracie Gasmann to give Loras a 2–0 cushion.
The Purple and Gold continued to control possession after the break, and
Emily Bowe added an insurance tally in the 80th minute with her eighth goal of the year, assisted by Wessel.
Defensively, the Duhawks limited the Storm to just six total shots and four on goal.
Hannah Fedinec turned away all four attempts to record her 11
th shutout of the season. Loras outshot Simpson (7-4-2, 3-1-0 A-R-C) 19–6 and held a decisive 10–0 edge in corner kicks.
