PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The Loras College women's volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday morning, falling 25-18, 25-17, and 25-15.
The Duhawks battled early in the first set, keeping things close until the Pioneers pulled away late to take control. Platteville (12-8 overall, 2-1 WIAC) carried that momentum through the next two frames, using a balanced offensive attack and steady defense to complete the sweep.
Senior
Cat Meyer led the way with 10 kills to pace the Purple and Gold's offense, while
Elaina Schroeder added eight kills on a .412 hitting percentage.
Autumn Finch was a force at the net, finishing with seven kills and a team-high four blocks, and
Lucie Lambe anchored the back row with 12 digs and a service ace. Setter
Alyssa Daughenbaugh guided the attack with 15 assists and added eight digs of her own.
As a team, Loras (5-14 overall, 1-2 A-R-C) totaled 30 kills and 22 attack errors on 114 attempts for a .070 hitting percentage. The Pioneers countered with 41 kills on a .241 hitting percentage to earn the victory.
