Women's Tennis Claims Four Medals at the 2025 A-R-C Individual Tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Loras College women's tennis team wrapped up the 2025-26 fall season at the American Rivers Conference Individual Tournament, hosted at Coe College. 

In Flight B singles, Ellie Kalina made a final four run after a round one victory over Lilly Schreckengast, 4-2, 4-2, followed by a 4-0, 4-2 (15-13) win in round two. In the semifinal match, Kalina fell to Coe Colleges Maria Bello Escobar, 5-3, 4-0 before ultimately taking fourth place in the flight.

In Flight C singles, Saydie Roling was the only Duhawk to escape round one with a 4-1, 4-2 victory over Alexa Cohen before falling to Sidney Peterson in round two.

It was an all Loras championship match in Flight D singles featuring Zara Stoltzfus and Brooke Burger. Stoltzfus got to the championship match after hard fought round two win after receiving a bye in round one. She then followed that up with a sweep in the quarterfinals, then with a 4-2, 4-0 win in the semis. Burger, who also received a first-round bye, took down Hailey Olson in the second round, followed by a 4-1, 4-0 win in the quarterfinals. She then beat Nellie Morgan to set up the championship match between the two Duhawks. Burger would ultimately be named the winner of the flight after a 4-2, 4-0 win.

In Flight E singles, Kaylee Mazur would take first place in the flight. After a first-round bye, Mazur got victories over Kayla Truitt of Simpson College, Vivian Dao of Nebraska Wesleyan, and her teammate, Marcela Torres, who reached the semifinals in convincing fashion before taking fourth place in the flight.

In Flight B doubles, the duo of Kalina and Roling continued their success with a convincing 6-0 win in round one before cruising to the semifinals with a 6-1 win in the quarterfinals. After a 6-4 win over Jenna Mitsuko Mahoney and Madi Whalen, the pair of Duhawks took down Jayda Floyd and Adriana Benavente from University of Dubuque, 6-4, to claim the Flight B doubles championship.
