DUBUQUE, Iowa — Loras College men's soccer stretched its unbeaten run to 11 matches with a 5-0 shutout of Buena Vista University on Saturday at the Rock Bowl.
The Duhawks (7-0-4, 1-0-1 A-R-C) controlled possession throughout, firing 34 shots while limiting the Beavers (5-5-1, 0-2-0) to just three attempts and no shots on goal.
Raymond Reyes broke through late in the first half with a goal in the 42nd minute off a setup from
Joseph Sorce. Loras poured it on after the break as
Dani Galiana Torres and
Townes Robertson scored three minutes apart midway through the second half, both assisted by
Sep Heerkens and Sorce.
Julian Lopez added the fourth in the 82nd minute from a feed by
Dominic Scandariato, and
Marc Anthony Carreon closed the scoring in the 87
th off a penalty kick.
Alexander Drexler picked up the clean sheet without making a save. Buena Vista's Zachary Sigler finished with nine stops in the loss.
Up next: The Duhawks continue conference play Wednesday, Oct. 8, as the team will travel to Luther College to take on the Norse. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
