WAVERLY, Iowa – The Loras College men's track and field team hit the road to compete in the Wartburg Select hosted by Wartburg College on Friday, Jan. 31-Saturday, Feb. 1.
Among the top finishes for the Duhawks, after his performance in the one mile,
Joe Franke puts himself ninth all-time in Loras College Track and Field history after he ran a time of 4:15.53 which was a new personal record.
Following suit in the 3000-meter run,
Carlo Dannenfelser,
Isaac Bourne, and
Jacob Belha add their names to the top 10 all-time lists. Dannenfelser runs 8:31.53 for fourth all-time, Bourne runs 8:32.24 for sixth all-time, and Belha runs a personal record of 8:37.25 for ninth all-time.
Carter Allen would round out the top-10 all-time performances as he would earn a fourth place finish in the weight throw invitational, with a mark of 16.71 meters which was a new personal record and now puts him 10th all-time in program history.
Ted Kruse and
Derik Bunten got to winning ways after they both placed first in their respective events. Kruse finished first in the 400 meters with a time of 50.01 while Bunten also claimed first in the long jump with a distance of 6.88 meters.
Up Next: The Purple and Gold with travel back to Waverly, Iowa on Friday, Feb. 7 to compete in the Friday Knight Lights hosted by Wartburg College.
