Women's Track and Field Claims Six Event Titles at Friday Knight Lights

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Loras College women's track and field team traveled to Wavelry, Iowa for the second week in a row to compete in the Friday Knight Lights hosted by Wartburg College on Friday inside Hoover Fieldhouse.

The women claimed six event titles in addition to new personal records, nationally ranked finishes, and moving up in Loras College Track and Field all-time program history.

Harmony Creasy in the 60-meter dash took home first as she ran a time of 7.89 seconds.

Emma Seipel claims first place in the 200 meters with a time of 25.03 seconds, a new personal record by 0.49 which also puts her third all-time in program history and ranks her sixth nationally. She also claimed the No. 1 spot in long jump with 5.93 meters and broke 60 seconds in the 4x400 meter for the first time in her career.

Sara Hoskins collects another first place finish in the high jump as she finished with a distance of 1.68 meters.

Maddie Mucci and Caitlyn Cox get to winning ways as both secure a first-place finish in each of their respective events. Mucci won the triple jump after a jump of 11.21 meters and Cox threw a season best 19.36 meters, a mark which ranks her No. 2 in all of Division III in the weight throw. She also adds a personal record in shot put.

Layla Hughes had herself a night after she earned two personal records in the 60 meters and 200 meters. In the 60 meters she improved by .16 and in the 200 by nearly a second while also splitting an indoor 400 best in the 4x400 meters.

The 4x400 team of Creasy, Seipel, Hughes, and Elly Burds ranks 11th in all of Division III after finishing with a time of 3:58.86.

Riley Vice wraps up the strong performances for the Duhawks as she throws a PR of over 70cm in the weight throw.

Up Next: Loras will split the team up as some members of the team will travel to the Midwest Elite in Whitewater, Wis. or the UWP Invite in Platteville, Wis. on Saturday, Feb. 15.
