DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's volleyball team fell, 3-0, to the fifth-ranked Carthage College Firebirds on Saturday afternoon inside the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center.
The Duhawks fell in straight sets to Carthage (13-2, 3-0 CCIW) by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-22.
Corey Mayotte paced the Loras (9-2, 3-1) offense with a match-high 17 kills, hitting .441 on the day.
Evan Dziadkowiec dished out 34 assists, while
Roman Rothermel put down seven kills of his own in addition to recording two solo blocks. As a team, the Duhawks hit .388, finishing with 41 kills and 10 errors in 80 attempts.
The Firebirds were led by Owen Hendricks who finished with 14 kills. Owen Otto followed closely behind with 13 kills, while Ryan Cholewinski and Ben Heise added in 10 kills apiece. Carthage hit .560, totaling 50 kills and eight errors in 75 attempts.
