DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's volleyball team wrapped up nonconference play with a pair of wins over spring break.
The Duhawks defeated the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in four sets on Wednesday, March 12 and celebrated seniors
Ryan Floyd and
Corey Mayotte with a 3-1 Senior Day win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday, March 15.
Loras 3, UW-Stevens Point 1
- The Duhawks led by as many as six multiple times over the course of the opening set. A kill from Nolan Krygsheld sealed the 25-21 set one victory for the Purple and Gold.
- Despite the Pointers holding a 12-6 lead early on in set two, Loras responded with an 8-0 run to regain the lead (14-12). UW-Stevens Point closed out the set with three straight points to earn the 25-23 set two victory and tie the match up at 1-1.
- The Purple and Gold used a 3-0 run to break the final tie of the third set at 8-8. A kill from Evan Dziadkowiec put the Duhawks back in front 2-1 in the match with a 25-21 set three win.
- The Duhawks erased an early six-point Pointers' lead (11-5), knotting the score up at 19-19. Both squads traded points, which resulted in six more tied scores, until back-to-back Loras kills and a service ace from Bo Brainerd III secured the 29-27 set four win to take the match.
- As a team, the Purple and Gold hit .314, finishing with 63 kills and 20 errors in 137 attempts.

Loras 3, MSOE 1
- The Duhawks rattled off six straight points to take an early 9-5 lead in set one. Loras maintained the lead for the remainder of the set, taking the set by a score of 25-22.
- MSOE benefitted from three Duhawk errors, which broke the final tie at 22-22, giving them the 25-22 set two win.
- The Purple and Gold raced out to a 12-3 lead to begin the third set and never looked back, increasing their lead to 15 twice. The Duhawks took set three 25-11.
- Three attack errors by the Raiders helped the Duhawks break the 12-12 tie and take a 15-12 lead. A block from Krysheld and Brainerd gave Loras the 25-19 set four win to take the match.
- Loras hit .377 as a team, which included 51 kills and eight errors in 114 attempts.

- Nolan Krygsheld: Nine kills, 10 digs, four blocks
