March 17, 2025

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Loras College women's track and field team secured a fourth-place finish at the 2025 Indoor Track and Field National Championships, earning 32 points. This marks the Duhawks' 10th consecutive podium finish.

Emma Seipel capped off her final indoor season in dominant fashion, defending her national title in the long jump and collecting two First Team All-America honors in the 200-meter dash and 60-meter dash. She contributed 18 of Loras' 32 points, finishing sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.61 seconds and fourth in the 200-meter dash at 24.57 seconds. A top-eight finish in any event secures First Team All-America recognition.

Caitlyn Cox finished as the national runner-up in the weight throw, earning First Team All-America honors with a mark of 19.65 meters. Her throw set a new personal record and broke her own school record.

Sara Hoskins added to the Duhawks' success, earning First Team All-America honors with a third-place finish in the high jump at 1.74 meters.

Three Duhawks earned Second Team All-America honors, which are awarded to individual event finishers placing ninth through 16th and relay teams finishing ninth or 10th. Elly Burds and Frankie Chaidez finished 15th and 17th, respectively, in the 800-meter run, with Burds clocking 2:14.54 and Chaidez 2:15.78. Taylor Flaig placed 12th in the weight throw with a toss of 17.25 meters.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Harmony Creasy, Layla Hughes, Burds and Seipel finished 11th with a time of 3:53.53, narrowly missing Second Team All-America recognition. Creasy also competed in the long jump, placing 19th with a mark of 5.32 meters.

On the men's side, Loras finished 33rd with seven points. The University of Dubuque was the only American Rivers Conference team to place higher, tying for 10th with St. Norbert University and the University of Puget Sound. University of Wisconsin-La Crosse claimed the national title with 84 points.

DreAnthony Jackson and the men's 4x400-meter relay team highlighted the Duhawks' efforts. Jackson earned First Team All-America honors for the first time in his career with a personal-best 17.33-meter throw in the shot put, placing sixth and breaking his own school record. The relay team of Ted Kruse, Matt Kruse, Joe Franke and Ian Fagan secured a fifth-place finish in 3:17.29 to earn First Team All-America recognition.

Derik Bunten and Franke collected Second Team All-America honors. Bunten placed 14th in the long jump with a mark of 6.98 meters, while Franke finished 15th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.83.
