Indoor Track and Field National Qualifiers Announced

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College indoor track and field teams have secured 15 qualifying marks for this week's NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, the NCAA announced in a press release Sunday evening.

The sixth-ranked Duhawk women's team qualified seven individuals along with its 4x400-meter relay squad. The No. 22-ranked men's team will send three individual competitors and teams in both the distance medley relay and 4x400-meter relay.

Emma Seipel leads the women's qualifiers, competing in three individual events. The Nekoosa, Wisconsin, native is tied for the seventh seed in both the 60-meter (7.56) and 200-meter (24.74) races and holds the top seed in the long jump (6.11m). She will also compete in the 4x400-meter relay alongside Harmony Creasy, Layla Hughes and Elly Burds.

Creasy will join Seipel in the long jump, entering the competition tied for the 19th seed (5.67m). Sara Hoskins qualified for the high jump, tied for the third seed with a mark of 1.72 meters. Burds and Frankie Chaidez earned spots in the 800 meters, ranking 16th and 19th with times of 2:13.04 and 2:13.08, respectively.

Caitlyn Cox and Taylor Flaig round out the women's qualifiers in the weight throw. Cox is the No. 2 seed with a distance of 19.36 meters, while Flaig holds the No. 12 seed at 17.95 meters.

For the men, Joe Franke will compete in the 800 meters as the No. 9 seed with a time of 1:52.49. Derik Bunten qualified in the long jump as the seventh seed (7.30m), while DreAnthony Jackson is the fifth seed in the shot put with a mark of 17.25 meters.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Ted Kruse, Matt Kruse, Franke and Ian Fagan earned a qualifying spot with a time of 3:16.97. The distance medley relay team of Jacob Belha, Fagan, Franke and Carlo Dannenfelser secured the No. 11 seed with a time of 9:57.18. Carson Vaske and Elliot Frideres will serve as alternates.

The NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place March 14-15 at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, N.Y.
