INDIANOLA, Iowa — The Loras College women's track and field team competed at the Kip Janvrin Open, hosted by Simpson College, on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, at Buxton Stadium.
On Thursday night,
Bailey Vaughan and
Natalia Wrobel represented the Duhawks in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Vaughan placed sixth with a time of 11:37.23, the fifth-fastest mark in program history, while Wrobel finished 12th in 11:56.19.
Loras athletes competed in five events on the final day of the meet. The team's top performance came in the 4x100-meter relay, as
Harmony Creasy,
Meghan McDonald,
Layla Hughes and
Emma Seipel finished second with a time of 47.13 seconds.
In field events,
Caitlyn Cox and
Taylor Flaig represented the Duhawks in the shot put. Cox placed 11th with a throw of 11.69 meters, while Flaig finished seventh with a mark of 12.17 meters. Flaig also competed in the discus, placing 21st with a throw of 35.84 meters.
In the 200-meter dash, McDonald finished 22nd with a time of 27.06 seconds, while
Maddie Mucci placed 33rd at 27.76 seconds.
In the 800-meter run,
Ivy Glendening finished 32nd with a time of 2:24.45. Lilly Molloy placed 38th in 2:26.26, and
Maddie Mathis finished 48th with a time of 2:20.37.
