DES MOINES, Iowa – The Loras College men's track and field team competed at the Drake Relays, held at the Blue Oval and hosted by Drake University from April 24–26.
The Duhawks opened the meet in the 4x800-meter relay, with
Carlo Dannenfelser,
Carson Hendrey,
Michael Gadberry, and
Joe Franke placing 13th in 7:46.02. The 4x400-meter relay team of
Ted Kruse,
Matt Kruse,
Zeke Irving, and
Ian Fagan followed with a fourth-place finish, clocking a time of 3:12.34 which is good for sixth in Division III and program history.
Loras continued its strong performances in the sprint medley relay, where
Casey Tath,
Carson Vaske, M. Kruse, and Franke finished third in 3:25.42, the third fastest time in program history. In the 4x200-meter relay, T. Kruse,
Derik Bunten,
Dayvion Foreman, and Fagan also took third, recording a time of 1:26.30, the second fastest mark in school history.
In the 4x100-meter relay, Bunten, Tath, Fagan, and Foreman placed ninth, narrowly missing finals after posting the sixth-fastest time in program history.
In field events,
DreAnthony Jackson placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 16.41 meters, and Bunten finished 13th in the long jump with a mark of 6.81 meters.
The Duhawks capped the weekend with a strong performance in the distance medley relay, as
Jacob Belha, Tath, Franke, and Dannenfelser placed fourth in 9:56.39 which ranks fourth in program history.
