DES MOINES, Iowa – The Loras College women's track and field team turned in a strong showing at America's Greatest Classic, The Drake Relays, held April 24–25.
The Duhawks opened competition in the 4x800-meter relay, as
Becca Diddia,
Ivy Glendening,
Lily Molloy, and
Maddie Mathis placed 14th with a time of 9:38.92. Later, the 4x400-meter relay team of
Harmony Creasy,
Layla Hughes,
Frankie Chaidez, and
Emma Seipel earned a fifth-place finish, clocking in at 3:47.90 which ranks ninth in Division III.
In the field events, Seipel led the way with a fifth place showing in the long jump with a mark of 5.73 meters, while Creasy placed 21st with a jump of 5.11 meters.
Sara Hoskins added a 14th-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.66 meters.
On the track, the distance medley relay team of Diddia, Seipel, Glendening, and Chaidez placed eighth, finishing in 12:30.60.
In the throws,
Caitlyn Cox and
Taylor Flaig recorded back-to-back finishes in the hammer throw, placing 13th and 14th, respectively. Cox posted a throw of 53.90 meters, with Flaig close behind with a season best at 52.92 meters.
