ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Loras College track and field teams competed at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier on a mission to secure bids to the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio.
The Duhawks highlighted the meet with two program records.
Frankie Chaidez broke a 14-year-old school record in the women's 800-meter run, finishing fourth with a time of 2:10.72, currently ranked No. 24 in Division III. On the men's side, the 4x400-meter relay team of
Matt Kruse,
Ted Kruse,
Zeke Irving and
Ian Fagan posted a first-place finish in 3:09.72, setting a new program record and ranking No. 4 nationally.
In the women's triple jump,
Maddie Mucci placed fourth with a season-best 11.71 meters, placing her No. 26 nationally.
Harmony Creasy followed in fifth with a jump of 11.65 meters, ranking No. 30 in Division III.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Creasy,
Layla Hughes, Chaidez and
Emma Seipel clocked a season-best time of 3:46.60, ranking No. 16 in the nation and ninth in program history.
Additional standout performances included personal and season bests.
Elliot Frideres recorded a personal-best time of 50.08 seconds in the 400-meter dash, and
Taylor Flaig posted a season-best mark of 12.88 meters in the women's shot put.
The Duhawks also set two facility records.
DreAnthony Jackson threw 16.06 meters in the men's shot put to set a new venue best and finish ninth overall.
Carter Allen placed third in the discus with a season-best throw of 51.48 meters, also setting a facility record.
