Outdoor Track and Field National Qualifiers Announced

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams have secured 11 qualifying marks for the upcoming NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the NCAA announced in a press release Saturday evening.

The No. 12-ranked Duhawk women's team qualified four individual athletes in addition to the 4x400-meter relay team. The men's team will send three individual competitors along with its 4x400 relay squad.

Emma Seipel leads the way for Loras, qualifying in three events. The Nekoosa, Wisconsin, native enters nationals tied for the No. 8 seed in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.69 seconds, is seeded 15th in the 200-meter dash at 24.17, and holds the No. 4 seed in the long jump with a mark of 6.05 meters. Seipel will also compete in the 4x400-meter relay alongside teammates Harmony Creasy, Layla Hughes and Frankie Chaidez. The relay team is seeded 16th with a time of 3:46.60.

Sara Hoskins qualified for the high jump, tied for the No. 7 seed with a jump of 1.70 meters. Rounding out the women's qualifiers are Caitlyn Cox and Taylor Flaig in the hammer throw. Cox enters as the No. 6 seed with a throw of 56.37 meters, and Flaig is tied for the No. 11 seed at 53.94 meters.

On the men's side, Joe Franke will compete in the 800 meters, seeded 10th with a time of 1:49.87. In the field events, DreAnthony Jackson qualified ninth in the shot put with a mark of 17.37 meters, and Carter Allen is seeded 17th in the discus at 51.48 meters.

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Ian Fagan, Zeke Irving, Ted Kruse and Matt Kruse is seeded fourth with a time of 3:09.30.

Meghan McDonald and Elliot Frideres have been named alternates for the women's and men's 4x400 relay teams, respectively.

The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held March 22–24 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
