DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's track and field team continued its strong outdoor season with a dominant showing at the Battle of the Bluffs, hosted by the University of Dubuque.
Harmony Creasy led the Duhawks with a lifetime-best performance in the 400-meter run, clocking 59.46 seconds to take first place and move to No. 5 on Loras's all-time list. Layla Hughes followed in second with a time of 58.34 seconds.
Creasy also helped power the 4x100-meter relay team to a victory, joining Meghan McDonald, Hughes and Emma Seipel for a first-place finish in 47.16 seconds.
Loras secured five more event titles on the day. Sara Hoskins claimed the high jump crown with a mark of 1.70 meters, a performance that now ranks fifth nationally in NCAA Division III. Seipel took the long jump with a distance of 5.72 meters, while Creasy earned her second individual win of the meet in the triple jump at 11.27 meters.
In the throws, Riley Vice won the shot put with a mark of 13.03 meters, and Caitlyn Cox led the hammer throw with a toss of 54.97 meters. Taylor Flaig also delivered a standout performance in the hammer, throwing a personal best of 53.94 meters, the third-best mark in program history and currently ninth in Division III.
Elsewhere, at the Wisconsin Badger Challenge, distance runners Frankie Chaidez and Becca Diddia both posted personal records in the 1,500-meter run. Chaidez crossed the line in 4:34.17, with Diddia close behind at 4:42.51.
Up Next: The Duhawks travel to Indianola, Iowa, for the American Rivers Conference Outdoor Championships, hosted by Simpson College. The meet runs from Thursday, May 8, through Saturday, May 10.
