DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College men's tennis team opened their season by hosting the Loras Men's Invite on Friday and Saturday.
In round one doubles,
Jackson Craig and
Jimmy Krcmarik were victorious, winning their match 6-0. The team of
Lucas Healy and
Nick Carney won their match, 6-3, while Diego Hernandez and
Luis Garcia were also winners, defeating their opponents 6-3. The duo of
Andrew Day and Popa rounded out round one doubles with a 6-2 win over Nik Cook and Momin Durrani from Concordia Moorhead.
In round one singles, Krcmarik was a winner over Eli Dickerson, 4-0, 4-1 and Hernandez won his match, 4-2, 4-1.
Charlie Dobbs also was able to get a victory, defeating his opponent, 4-0, 4-2. Popa, Martin, Carney, Craig, and
Jaimes Palmer were all victorious in their round one singles matches.
Luke Gogolewski and Dobbs finished round one with singles wins over Connor Seals and Ethan Copic. Gogolewski defeated Seals 4-0, 4-1, while Dobbs won his match, 4-0, 4-0.
Krcmarik and Carney were able to open round two doubles with a win, defeating Cook and Kai Kringlie from Concordia Moorhead, 7-6.
In round two singles, Martin defeated Rene De Hoyos from Grand View, 1-4, 4-2, 1-0(13). Craig and Krcmarik were also winners, with Craig winning 4-1, 4-1, while Krcmarik won his match, 4-2, 4-2.
