SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Loras College women's tennis team competed in the ITA Regional Championships over the weekend at Gustavus Adolphus College.
In singles competition,
Mary Breitbach defeated Cora Anderson from Hamline University, 6-0, 6-1, in the opening round. In round two, Breitbach won her match, 2-6, 7-5, 13-11, over Liv Herzog of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire before falling in the third round.
Ellie Kalina advanced to the second round, defeating Ella Morahl from St. Benedict, 6-0, 6-7, 10-6. Kalina dropped her second-round match to Natasa Pupovac from Carroll University.
In doubles play, the duo of Breitbach and Kalina fell in their opening match, 8-4.
In the Invite Draw 2,
Alexis Tatum lost her second-round matchup, 8-4, while
Lauren Keiper fell in the opening round to Maria Bello of Coe College, 8-4, in Draw 4. In Draw 6,
Megan Covelli also dropped her opening round match, 8-4. In Draw 8 of the Invite portion,
Brooke Burger fell 8-1.
In Doubles Draw 3, Tatum and Keiper won their first-round matchup 6-1 before falling in round two.
