Box Score DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's tennis team earned their first A-R-C win of the season, defeating Nebraska Wesleyan University, 6-1, on Friday night at Tucker Tennis Courts.
Ellie Kalina and
Saydie Roling were the first pair of Duhawks to get a win on the night, defeating Kylie Engelsman and Parker Brown, 6-2.
Alexis Tatum and
Brooke Burger followed suit with a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles. Then, it was
Mary Breitbach and
Megan Covelli who completed the doubles sweep with a 7-6 win over Crystal Craft and Caitlin Hudson at No. 1 doubles.
Taking a 1-0 lead into singles,
Lauren Keiper was the first Duhawk to add a singles point with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles. Covelli added another point with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4, while Breitbach and Kalina continued their success at No.1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Breitbach was victorious over Engelsman, 6-0, 6-2, while Kalina won her match, 7-6, 0-6, 1-0.
Roling put a bow on a Duhawk win, defeating Smith, 6-0, 6-7, 1-0 (10-6) at No. 5 singles.
Up Next: Loras will return to the court to celebrate senior day on Sept. 27 as they take on Buena Vista University. Match time is scheduled for 10 AM.
