LINCOLN, Neb. – The Loras College women's soccer team opened American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play with a commanding 6-0 win over Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday evening at Abel Stadium.
Belle Johnson scored twice, including the game-winner just 85 seconds into the match, to pace the Duhawks' attack.
Kaitlin Glenn added a goal in the third minute off an assist from
Katie Callahan, giving Loras (7-0-1, 1-0-0 A-R-C) an early cushion.
The Duhawks pulled away in the second half as Callahan tallied her first goal of the season in the 53rd minute of an assist from
Emerson Gasmann.
Belle Johnson struck again in the 58th, with Callahan earning her second assist of the night. Gasmann converted of an assist from
Mary Clare Bean, and
Ciara Johnson later found
Emily Bowe to round out the scoring.
Loras outshot the Prairie Wolves (2-4-3, 0-1-0 A-R-C) 36-2, including an 18-1 advantage in shots on goal. Goalkeepers
Hannah Fedinec and
Makenna Harvey combined for the clean sheet without being forced to make a save.
