CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Two Loras College student-athletes earned American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Athlete of the Week honors in two separate sports, the league office announced Monday.
For the third consecutive week, a member of the men's soccer program collected conference recognition. Freshman goalkeeper
Alexander Drexler was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week after a standout performance, recording 20 saves on the week, including two on penalty kicks, in a 1-1 draw against Nebraska Wesleyan.
Drexler leads the A-R-C in saves per game at 5.11, while the Duhawks top the league in goals allowed and total saves.

Mary Breitbach of women's tennis grabbed her second career Player of the Week award following her undefeated weekend at No.1 singles and doubles. The Duhawks took down Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista to earn their first two conference victories of the season.
Breitbach came out on top in both doubles matches with partner
Megan Covelli. The duo took down Nebraska Wesleyan's Crystal Craft and Caitlin Hudson, 7-6, and Buena Vista's Hannah Higgins and Macy Weller, 6-0. The Peoria, Ill. native continued her success in singles play, defeating Craft 6-0, 6-2 and Higgens 6-0, 6-0.
Up next: The Duhawks will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Wednesday, Oct.1 to take on the Kohawks at 4 p.m.
