DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Loras College football team dropped its season opener against No. 20 Hope College, 62-0, on Saturday afternoon inside the Rock Bowl.

The Flying Dutchmen opened the scoring on the first offensive drive of the game, running six plays for 64 yards for the touchdown. The Duhawks were never able to find themselves in the end zone.

Loras (0-1) was able to put pressure on Hope (1-0) quarterback Alex Thole late in the first half, but it wasn't enough to slow down the Dutchmen offense.

Joey Helminiak compiled 122 yards off 17 completions, while
Carter Cahill carried the ball 17 times for a total of 47 yards.
Niko Jemilo led all Duhawk defenders with 13 total tackles, and two sacks.
