CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Three Duhawks earned American Rivers Conference Athlete of the Week honors, as
Keelee Leitzen and
Caitlyn Cox claimed the women's track and field awards and
DreAnthony Jackson was named the men's field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Leitzen was tabbed A-R-C Female Athlete of the Week and Women's Track Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Bumble Rumble. She won the 600 meters in 1:35.69, breaking the previous meet record set in 2022 by 1.5 seconds. Leitzen also anchored the winning 4x400 meter relay team, which posted a time of 3:57.38, winning by 10 seconds and ranking second nationally in Division III.
Cox earned A-R-C Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors after winning the weight throw in a field of 20 with a season-best mark of 19.53 meters, a throw that ranks first in Division III by more than six feet. She also placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 12.23 meters.
Jackson was named A-R-C Men's Field Athlete of the Week after winning the shot put at the Bumble Rumble. He topped a 31-athlete field with a season-best throw of 17.09 meters, which ranks third in Division III. Jackson added a third-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 17.37 meters.
