CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Caitlyn Cox and Eric Rutherford were named the American Rivers Conference Female and Male Athletes of the Week respectively, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Cox continued her standout season in the weight throw at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa. Competing in the premier flight, Cox won a field of 20 with a personal best mark of 20.33 meters on her final attempt. The throw broke her own school record, ranks first in Division III this season and stands fourth on the NCAA Division III all-time list.

Rutherford also turned in a record-setting performance at the meet, competing in the premier 3,000-meter flight. He posted a personal best time of 8:19.71, breaking the school record and ranking 16th in Division III.
