USTFCCCA Indoor National Rankings - Week One

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Loras College men's and women's track and field teams earned spots in the opening week of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor National Track and Field Rating Index, released Tuesday.

The Loras women were ranked No. 14, while the men checked in at No. 20. Both squads have posted multiple nationally ranked marks early in the season.

Caitlyn Cox leads the women's ranking with 25.93 points of the team's 44.92 total. Cox owns the top mark in Division III in the weight throw after recording a season-best 20.33 meters at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational. The throw set a school record and ranks fourth all-time in Division III history.

Keelee Leitzen contributed 10.99 points with her No. 6-ranked mile. She ran 4:56.67 at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational, a time that ranks second in program history.

The 4x400-meter relay of Katie Flynn, Rosie Flynn, Layla Hughes and Leitzen added 4.01 points with a time of 3:57.38, which ranks 10th nationally. Katie Flynn also added 3.43 points individually with a 400-meter time of 58.22, ranking 13th in Division III.

On the men's side, DreAnthony Jackson accounted for 16.65 of the team's 35.18 points with nationally ranked marks in the shot put and weight throw. His shot put of 17.09 meters ranks fifth in Division III, while his weight throw of 18.02 meters ranks 13th.

Isaac Bourne added 10.08 points after clocking 14:28.96 in the 5,000 meters, a time that ranks seventh nationally.

Regionally, both the Loras men and women are ranked No. 7.

Up Next: Loras travels to Waverly, Iowa, on Friday, Jan. 30, for the Friday Knight Lights meet hosted by Wartburg College.
