DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Loras College men's track and field team opened the weekend with split-squad competition Friday, Feb. 20, at the Sol Butler Classic hosted by University of Dubuque and the Caged Eagle Open at University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.
At the Sol Butler Classic, the long jump group turned in three lifetime personal records and one season best.
Daken Pessman won the event with a personal-best leap of 6.80 meters.
Liam Kelso added a season-best mark of 6.53 meters, while
Ahmari Meeks-Miller (6.51) and
Tre'jon Igess (6.41) each recorded lifetime bests.
Additional highlights included personal records from
Liam Lentz in the 800 meters (2:02.46) and Jonah Irving in both the 200 (23.65) and 400 (54.64).
Jack Ruswick also posted a personal best in the mile with a time of 4:47.19.
At the Caged Eagle Open, Casey Tath finished the 200 meters with a time of 22.27, ranking fourth in program history. Zeke Irving followed with a personal-best 22.40, improving his top-10 standing to a tie for sixth all-time.
Kam Reynolds (23.03) and Isaac Oster (23.88) also posted personal bests in the event. Oster added another personal best in the 400 meters, finishing in 53.84.
In the 800 meters,
Gavin Denholm ran a personal-best 1:58.86, followed by personal records from
Enoch Thielhelm (1:59.76) and
Lucas Arnold (2:03.89).
In the mile,
Isaac Bourne posted a personal best of 4:16.90,
Cameron Gotto clocked 4:18.51, and
Aiden Ruiz added a personal best of 4:23.38.
Brayden Frey rounded out the group with a personal-best time of 4:29.40.
