CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Kiya Steger of the Loras College softball team earned American Rivers Conference Female Athlete of the Week honors, to go along with Pitcher and Position Player of the Week recognition, the league office announced on Monday.

Steger helped lead the Duhawks to an 8-2 record at THE Spring Games this past week in Kissimmee, Fla.

At the plate, Steger finished the week with a .394 batting average in 33 plate appearances. The Dyersville, Iowa native racked up 13 hits, 14 RBIs, and a home run while also finishing with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

In the circle, Steger had a perfect 3-0 week as a starter with two saves in six appearances. The sophomore right-hander threw 20.1 innings, holding opponents to a .189 batting average, while striking out 27 batters with a 1.03 ERA.

Up Next: The Duhawks will return to the diamond on Saturday, Mar. 21 to face off against the Monmouth College Scouts. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Monmouth, Ill.
