March 2, 2026

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Three Loras student-athletes from three different programs were named American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Athletes of the Week in their respective sports, the league office announced Monday.

Caitlyn Cox earned A-R-C Female Athlete of the Week and Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors following her performance at the A-R-C Indoor Track and Field Championships. Cox won the shot put with a personal-best throw of 13.40 meters, a mark that ranks sixth in program history and 26th nationally in Division III. She also captured the weight throw title for the fourth time in her career with a toss of 19.99 meters, breaking both the meet and facility records. At the conclusion of the championships, she was named the A-R-C Most Valuable Field Performer.

Up next: The Purple and Gold will travel to Waverly, Iowa, to compete at the Wartburg Qualifier on Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7.

In men's basketball, freshman Damyen Jackson received the honor after his performance in two A-R-C tournament games last week. The Davenport, Iowa, native scored 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting in a 72-71 semifinal win over Coe College. He followed with 24 points and five rebounds in the championship game against the University of Dubuque, an 83-62 victory.

Up next: The Duhawks will travel to St. Louis, Mo., to compete in the NCAA Division III National Tournament at host Washington University in St. Louis, where they will face the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks in the opening round. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:05 p.m.

In men's wrestling, Eric Kinkaid was honored after placing first in the NCAA Region VI Regional at 157 pounds and being named the tournament's most outstanding wrestler. Kinkaid won his opening match by technical fall, then pinned Andrew Parrish of Cornell College to advance to the championship bout against Charlie Dojan of Wartburg College. Kinkaid avenged his Feb. 12 loss to Dojan with a pin to claim the regional title.

Up next: Loras will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to compete at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14.
