CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Isaac Bourne and Caitlyn Cox earned American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Athlete of the Week honors following the opening weekend of outdoor competition.
Bourne was named the conference's Male Athlete of the Week and Men's Track Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Washington University St. Louis (WashU) Distance Carnival in the 10,000 meters. He finished in 29:10.94, breaking a 50-year-old school record by 36 seconds and setting a new all-time A-R-C record. His time ranks No. 1 in NCAA Division III and No. 11 all-time in Division III history.
Cox earned Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors after her performance in the hammer throw at the Central College Dutch Invitational. She recorded a throw of 56.44 meters, breaking her own school record and moving to No. 1 in Division III. She also competed in the shot put, placing fourth with a mark of 12.66 meters, with only two Division I athletes and one NAIA competitor finishing ahead of her.
