Loras 4x400 Relays Post Top 10 Division III Marks at Wartburg Qualifier

WAVERLY, Iowa — A group of athletes from the Loras College men's and women's track and field teams competed Saturday at the Wartburg Qualifier, hosted by Wartburg College inside Hoover Fieldhouse.

The Loras women's 4x400-meter relay team of Katie Flynn, Layla Hughes, Rosie Flynn and Keelee Leitzen recorded a season-best time of 3:49.16, ranking fourth in NCAA Division III and fourth in program history.

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Ian Fagan, Zeke Irving, Casey Tath and Matt Kruse also posted a season-best mark, finishing in 3:16.23. The time ranks 10th in Division III and sixth in program history.

Caitlyn Cox led the field in the weight throw with a mark of 19.14 meters, breaking the meet record.

Maddie Mucci and Tre'jon Igess each placed third in the triple jump. Mucci recorded a mark of 11.24 meters, while Igess posted a jump of 13.71 meters.

Carter Allen, DreAnthony Jackson and Eli Pflipsen competed in the weight throw. Pflipsen led the trio with a third-place finish and a throw of 17.91 meters. Jackson placed fifth with a mark of 17.86 meters, and Allen finished eighth with a throw of 16.78 meters. Jackson and Pflipsen also competed in the shot put. Pflipsen placed second with a throw of 16.23 meters, while Jackson finished sixth with a mark of 15.65 meters.
