Strong All-Around Effort Lifts Duhawks at Easter Mid-Week Meet

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's track and field team hosted the Loras College Easter Mid-Week meet at the Rock Bowl, where the Duhawks also recognized their 2026 senior class and turned in a strong set of performances across the board.

On the track, Bryn Meyer led the way in the sprints, recording a pair of season-best times. She placed third in the 100-meter dash in 12.82 seconds, while Iva Senio followed with a season-best 13.24 to finish ninth. Meyer later added another third-place finish in the 200 meters, clocking a season-best 25.69, with Meghan McDonald close behind in fourth at 26.75. Emery Wherry, Abby Pierce and Rachel Theis also contributed personal-best efforts in the 200, with Pierce crossing in 27.12, Wherry in 27.75 and Theis in 28.04.

The Duhawks continued to show depth in the hurdles, where Wherry paced the group with a season-best 16.02 to take second in the 100-meter hurdles. Pierce and Theis followed with personal-best times of 16.22 and 16.49, finishing fifth and eighth, respectively.

Rosie Flynn delivered a standout performance, winning the 800 meters in a personal-best 2:15.75. Layla Hughes and Mila Grothus each added personal-best times in the event, finishing in 2:25.99 and 2:43.36. The 1500 meters saw another strong showing, as Bailey Vaughan recorded a season-best 4:48.59 to place second. Ivy Glendening (4:55.00), Paige Jacobs (5:04.96) and Grothus (5:27.20) each turned in personal-best efforts.

In the field events, Abby Horsfall highlighted the discus with a personal-best throw of 39.01 meters, while Audra Gallick added a season-best mark of 38.89 meters. Caitlyn Cox continued her dominant season in the throws, winning the hammer with a mark of 54.16 meters and taking first in the shot put with a season-best 13.23 meters. Lilly Anderson also posted a season-best mark in the shot put at 8.24 meters.

Meyer added to her strong day in the field, capturing the long jump title with a season-best leap of 5.25 meters, while Grace Cummins recorded a personal-best mark of 9.77 meters in the triple jump.
