INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Loras College men's tennis team secured the four seed in the American Rivers Conference Tournament after a 7-0 win over Simpson College.
Loras was able to control all three doubles matches to take the doubles point.
Jaimes Palmer and
Hayden Martin were 6-3 winners at No. 1,
Abhyudit Nagar and Samuel Canas Guerrero were 6-1 winners at No. 2, while
Horia Popa and
Andrew Day took down their opponent 6-0.
In singles play,
Gage Becker took down Grant Love 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1. At No. 2, Martens cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Hudson Christie. Season Sonoiki took down Darek Kayser 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3, while Day was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 4.
Nick Carney and
Jackson Craig completed the sweep at No. 5 and 6. Carney was victorious over Reid Jackson 6-3, 6-1, while Craig was a winner over Gavin Pierce 6-1, 6-1.
Up Next: Loras will host the opening round of the A-R-C tournament on April 28 against Central College. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
