KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Loras College men's soccer team picked up a 2-0 road victory over Kalamazoo College on Sunday afternoon at MacKenzie Field, improving to 4-1 on the season.
Loras struck first in the 13th minute when
Lance Grandgeorge found the back of the net for his second goal of the season, giving the Duhawks an early 1-0 advantage.
The Duhawks carried the one-goal lead into halftime before adding insurance late in the second half. In the 81st minute,
Liam Klossner scored his first goal of the season off an assist from Grandgeorge to double the Loras advantage to 2-0.
Loras' defense took care of the rest, holding Kalamazoo scoreless through the full 90 minutes.
Alexander Drexler made two saves in goal to record the shutout and earn the victory.
The Duhawks finished with a 15-10 advantage in shots and put five attempts on goal while limiting the Hornets to just two shots on frame. Loras also generated eight corner kicks compared to four for Kalamazoo.
Grandgeorge led the Loras attack with a goal and an assist for three points, while Klossner provided the second-half goal.
Townes Robertson recorded a team-high four shots, while Klossner added three attempts.
Up Next: Loras will travel to Platteville, Wis. to take on UW-Platteville on Sept. 23. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
