MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Loras College women's tennis team picked up a pair of victories Saturday, defeating Monmouth College 5-2 before earning a 4-3 win over Millikin University.

The Duhawks opened the day against Monmouth, where they overcame an early deficit after dropping two of the three doubles matches. Loras responded by winning five of six singles matches to secure the 5-2 victory.
Haila Christensen and
Zoe Strunz provided the Duhawks' lone doubles victory, cruising to a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Duhawks went on to rally in singles, taking 5-of-6 matches.
Saydie Roling bounced back after dropping her opening set at No. 2 singles, winning the second set 6-1 before taking the match with a 10-2 tiebreaker.
Noor Kassas earned a dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles, while
Zara Stoltzfus followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win of her own at the No. 4 position. Christensen added a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 5, and Scarlett Hoy rounded out the singles wins with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6.

The Duhawks carried the momentum into their second match of the day against Millikin, taking two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Roling teamed up with
Clara LeConte for a 7-5 victory at No.2 doubles, while
Megan Covelli and
Gemma Zeckser earned a convincing 6-2 win in their match.
In singles play,
Mary Breitbach picked up a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles, defeating Rachel Combs 6-4, 7-5. Roling continued her strong day at No. 2, taking the opening set 6-1 and leading Isabella Griffiths 3-0 in the second before Griffiths retired from the match.
LeConte provided another key point for the Duhawks at No. 6 singles, earning a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Sarah Parsons. Millikin claimed the remaining three singles matches, but Loras' doubles point proved to be the difference in the 4-3 victory.
Roling highlighted the day for Loras, going unbeaten across both matches with two singles victories and a doubles win against Millikin. Christensen also went undefeated against Monmouth with victories in both singles and doubles, while LeConte earned wins in both singles and doubles against Millikin.
