Loras Finishes 15th at Highland Championship

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Loras College men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Highland Championship, placing 15th in the team standings.

The Duhawks finished the two-round event at +30, with Silas Schultz leading the way individually. Schultz put together rounds of 73 (+1) and 74 (+2) to finish the tournament at +3, earning a tie for 20th place.

Nicholas Sullivan followed with another solid performance for Loras, finishing tied for 45th at +6. Sullivan remained consistent across the two days, carding rounds of 75 (+3) and 75 (+3).

Jack Dahlem turned in the Duhawks' best improvement between rounds. After opening with a 79 (+7), Dahlem responded with a 73 (+1) in the second round, shaving six strokes off his opening-round score. He finished the tournament at +8 and tied for 56th overall.

Connor Walsh finished tied for 97th at +15, posting rounds of 78 (+6) and 81 (+9), while Wyatt Herting finished tied for 101st at +17 after rounds of 82 (+10) and 79 (+7).

Alex LaShelle also competed for the Duhawks and finished tied for 87th at +13. LaShelle improved seven strokes on the second day, following an opening-round 82 (+10) with a 75 (+3).

Loras also had two golfers compete as individuals. Will Coohey finished 109th at +19, carding rounds of 84 (+12) and 79 (+7), while Cole Vetter finished 126th at +31 following rounds of 89 (+17) and 86 (+14).

Up Next: Loras will be back in action on Sept, 14 and 15, when they host the Loras Invite. The two day tournament will take place at The Meadows Golf Club in Asbury, Iowa.
