Why did you come to Loras? “I came to Loras because it has a top ranked Media Program (IBNA 5 time best news program)and I loved the people here. The community at Loras is one-of-a-kind and I wouldn't want to be any other place!”

What does it mean to be a Duhawk? “To be a Duhawk means holding yourself to a higher standard. Working as hard as you can, being the best student you can, and appreciating your fellow Duhawks.”

What has your favorite memory been from your time at Loras? “Guest hosting the CMT Hot 20 Countdown with Hunter Hayes was an unbelievable experience I could not have acquired without the support of my friends, Professors, and fellow Duhawks. I will never forget it!”

2016: Appeared in 22 games and started 15 as a pitcher... Recorded a career-high 46 strikeouts and posted a 4.43 ERA... Appeared in 38 games as an infielder... Posted a career-best .356 batting average tieing her marks for home runs (7) and RBIs (27)... Recorded the 100th hit of her career midwway through the season... Earned second team All-Iowa Conference honors. 

2015: Appeared in 20 games and started 17 as a pitcher... Posted a career-high ERA of 4.09 while tallying 40 strikeouts... Appeared in 38 games as an infielder... Recorded career-highs in hits (29), total bases (56), home runs (7) and RBIs (27). 

2014: Appeared in four games as pitcher and 34 overall... Tallied 26 hits and 26 RBIs. 

2013: Appeared in six games and started four as pitcher... Recorded seven strikeouts... Tallied 25 hits and 11 RBIs. 

High School: Graduate of Carlisle High School in Carlisle, Iowa … Four-year softball player for Jim Flaws in the Raccoon River conference … 2012 Honorable Mention All-Conference … 2011 Honorable Mention All-State and second-team All-Conference … All-Academic (2009,2010,2011,2012) … Helped lead the Wildcats to four Raccoon River conference championships, four regional championships and a state championship in 2012 … Four-year volleyball player for Erin Hoffman

Personal: Makaila Marie Haase … Daughter of Kevin and Kelly Haase and sister of McKenna Haase … Born in Des Moines, Iowa and raised there … Names the Nashville Predators as her favorite professional sports team … This summer she worked at the Iowa Events Center as a marketing intern, assisting to LA-based singer/songwriter Melanie Devaney, and was also a videographer for MAVTV’s television show “Dirt Dreams” … Public relations and media studies major
